Our Curriculum and All in a Day

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

LECC is dedicated to spiritual growth and academic excellence.

LECC was established to offer distinctly Christian preschool education and care in a supportive, educationally rich environment that includes programs consistent with the highest standards that will allow your child to develop to their maximum potential both spiritually and academically. Our curriculum was created and selected to ensure the achievement of these goals.

LECC is dedicated to LOVING CARE · SPIRITUAL GROWTH · ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.

Faith-Based

Our primary goal is to provide a safe, happy place where children can grow in their understanding that there is a creator God who loves them and desires a personal relationship with them. Students are exposed to a God-centered biblically based education as the foundation of all truth and knowledge. We believe that focusing on Christ and teaching with a biblical worldview sets us apart and makes our school distinctive. We teach that all truth comes from God and that Jesus is truth. We believe that this truth manifests itself in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom (education) and morality and ethics (life principles). We do not just integrate a biblical worldview into Bible classes, we strive to integrate it into everything that we do. All learning leads to God, reveals His nature and offers opportunities for us to respond to Him.

We will be introducing to your child the things of God, so they might discover Him as a real and vitally personal part of their young lives. Students learn that the Bible is the true Word of God. Students learn about sin and their need for forgiveness through Jesus our Savior. Stories are presented that give an overview of creation, the time Jesus lived on earth, and Bible heroes. They learn to talk with Jesus through prayer, worship Him through song, and apply biblical truths through their actions in and out of the classroom. Not only is there a preschool Bible curriculum as part of our program, our entire program has been developed from a Christian worldview, planting seeds of faith in children all through the year. With creative ways to review phonics, counting, letters, Bible stories and more, children learn and grow through education and through their love of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Strong Foundation for Life-Long Learning

Our preschool uses a comprehensive, research-based curriculum, approved by the Delaware Stars for Early Success Program guided by the Delaware Institute of Excellence in Early Childhood Education at The University of Delaware, that utilizes a whole-child approach to education. Research shows that a whole-child approach to learning is the most developmentally appropriate way to educate children. Why? Because a whole-child approach fosters all areas of children’s development and learning – from social-emotional and cognitive skills to literacy, math, and science understanding – and is a powerful approach as preschool children transition to kindergarten. Research shows that a whole-child approach to education is developmentally appropriate and better prepares children for life well beyond their time in a classroom.

With LECC’s Curriculum, children are immersed in learning through purposeful play-based experiences on topics they are familiar with from their everyday lives. Children find opportunities for rigorous skill development like counting, measurement, and language comprehension while also developing positive relationships, gross-motor skills, and problem-solving abilities. It inspires in children a love of learning as they develop confidence, creativity, and critical-thinking skills-all while promoting positive outcomes.

The 38 research-based objectives at the heart of the curriculum define the path our teachers take with children in their classroom. The objectives cover 10 areas of development and learning, including broad developmental areas, content areas, and English language acquisition. They inform every aspect of teaching, include predictors of school success, and are aligned with state early learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. They enable our teachers to see children’s development and learning along a progression across the whole of the early childhood years.

To prepare children for success in school and life, it’s more important than ever to educate their whole self.

Actionable

In addition to our core educational philosophies, LifeHouseECC curriculum utilizes:

Digital Individualized Daily Reporting

Every day, teachers report to parents what their children did in school and how they are progressing.

Goal Setting & Readiness Analysis

Our curriculum is parallel to the Teaching Strategies Gold Program, which LECC teachers use to set and track goals for every child enrolled to measure preschool success.

All in a Day

At every level, we execute comprehensive care and curriculum that will welcome your children while introducing them to a lifetime love of learning.  So that children in our care are advancing appropriately at each age, our curriculum is broken into Infant, Toddler, Preschool/Kindergarten Readiness divisions. Within each age group, we tailor lessons to the unique needs of each child.

Curriculum is Broken into INFANT, TODDLER, PRESCHOOL/ KINDERGARTEN Readiness Divisions

Each classroom has planned dynamic and engaging learning experiences geared to the interest and level of that particular age group and provides many opportunities to enhance each child’s options to play and learn. The atmosphere is nurturing, where a child’s self-worth is strengthened, and opportunities are given to promote independence and success. Your child will be exposed to the following areas:
